Come and join us at our food club on a Thursday it is just £3 and you get a drink and a snack and some FREE shopping.

The Guardian Charity Awards 2016: We Won!

We are over the moon to have Won the national Guardian Charity Awards 2016.The Guardian Charity Awards offer a unique platform to celebrate the success of small and medium-sized charities working to improve social wellbeing. For 24 years, they have showcased their work and given winners the backing and profile they need to move forward. We would like to thank staff, volunteers, service users and everyone in the community who has made our small charity the magical being it is today. Onwards and upwards! You can read more here
Volunteering
Want to make a difference in your community? Volunteer! We are looking for friendly, reliable, trustworthy volunteers who want to make a difference within their community. Here at the Marsh, there are all kinds of projects and activities to get involved with. There is a wide variety of positions available for all skills, and there is always room to help your community. DBS checks are required.
Our Groups
Open Access
Open Access is a drop-in for anyone aged over 16 who needs support or advice with housing, benefits, health issues or probation. We help filling in application forms for benefits, housing, and medical forms. Accompany people to medical appointments, we refer people to food banks, we help with emergency food parcels. Have access to our facilities which include a washing machine, dryer and shower. We also have computers a printer and a telephone to access.
Youth Work: 4-7's and 8-11's (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
On Tuesday and Thursday, from 3.30pm till 5.00pm, we offer sessions for young people from the age of four. The sessions are an opportunity for young people to socialize in a safe environment, whilst also exploring themselves and the world around them. Through informal education and issue based sessions, we cover a range of topics. A lot of the work we currently do is prevention work and empowering young people to make informed decisions and choices about their lives, offering bespoke advice and support for each young person who comes to us. Activities include cooking, sports and arts and crafts.
Youth Work 12- 18 (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
On Tuesday and Thursday, from 5.30pm till 7.00pm. The sessions are an opportunity for young people to socialize in a safe environment, whilst also exploring themselves and the world around them. Friday Coffee and cake 1.30-3.00pm
Women of all ages welcome to join us for great cake, conversation and choice of activity if you wish. A good place to make new friends and share interests.
Brew Cake and Make
Brew cake and make is a fun group which involves using surplus foods and craft materials to make art and craft projects and also make ingredients from the surplus food. We also receive sandwiches from greggs which anyone is welcome to for FREE!
Food Club
Food Club is a group where members get together to stop social isolation, food waste and hunger. You pay £3 to be a member, you receive snacks and refreshments. You will then be given a ticket and your number will be called it which then you can go and receive a FREE bag of food.
Room Hire
